A fire that started in a field in Withersfield, Suffolk, spread to a property, a caravan and adjoining garages. The incident on Queen Street was reported on Wednesday just after 1pm. Six appliances from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and two from Essex are attending, including crews from Bury St Edmunds, Ixworth, Clare, Newmarket and Long Melford. An oil tank and gas cylinders are additional concerns. Police were informed for a road closure, and UK Power Networks has been notified. Crews are using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets, with a water carrier and enhanced rescue tender from Newmarket also attending. The public is advised to avoid the area.
