Evacuation advisory issued for Riverside RV Park as flooding hits City Park area

Imperial County Code Enforcement ordered a total power shutdown at Lark Spa Mobile Home & RV Park in Niland, California, during an extreme heatwave, citing a code violation for an unpermitted electrical repair. The outage has left dozens of low-income seniors and disabled residents without air conditioning, forcing many to abandon their trailers or rely on generators costing up to $75 per day. County officials rejected requests for a temporary variance, and the utility company stated it is not responsible for the outage.

Grand Design RV recalled 448 of its 2026–2027 Lineage travel trailers on July 10, and Winnebago recalled 134 of its 2027 Navion and View motorhomes on July 14. Both recalls stem from a MaxxAir N-Series Maxxfan rooftop ventilation fan whose printed circuit board can overheat and cause a fire. Neither company manufactured the fan; it was sourced from a supplier. The recalls are filed by the vehicle manufacturers as required by federal law.

Bruce Spencer, 59, died from injuries sustained Tuesday when a bus converted into an RV exploded. The State Fire Marshal's Office determined the fire started beneath a propane range, likely caused by an electric compressor motor on a refrigerator. The RV had two 25-pound propane cylinders at the time of the explosion.

Medford Water is evaluating the potential decommissioning of its bulk water station on North Columbus Avenue in Medford. If closed, residents and businesses would need to travel 15–20 minutes to White City for potable water, increasing costs and fuel consumption. A final decision is expected in several months.

The San Mateo County Harbor District (SMCHD) executed the remaining three years of the initial lease term with Pillar Point Harbor RV Park. The tenant has satisfied all requirements and is in full compliance. The monthly lease payment was increased by 3.8%.
