Since 2021, the city has allowed homeowners to build up to two ADUs and one tiny house on wheels. Karas rents these units, generating a gross income of $4,550 (about 3,909 euros) per month and providing housing for four tenants. The ADUs cost her approximately $300,000 to build, while the tiny house cost about $60,000 to purchase and install.

The median age of RV owners fell from 53 in 2021 to 49 in 2026, according to the RV Industry Association's 2026 RV Owner Demographic Profile. The report shows 46% of owners are aged 35–54, and first-time buyers account for 36%. Millennials and Gen Z owners are highly engaged: 83% of Millennials and 72% of Gen Z plan to buy another RV, and about 95% use online platforms for research. RV usage has also risen to a median of 30 days per year, up from 20 days in 2021.
