A collision between a Volkswagen Touran and a motorhome occurred on Saturday afternoon on the A2 between the Herzebrock and Rheda junctions in the direction of Hanover. According to police, the Touran carrying seven people was in the middle lane when it moved left and collided with the motorhome, which had three occupants; the motorhome then hit the guardrail and tipped onto its side. Firefighters cut the windshield to free the motorhome's driver and two passengers, who were uninjured; one female occupant of the Touran sustained minor injuries. All three lanes toward Hanover remain closed, with police expecting the closure to last until 19:30, and traffic backed up for several kilometers.
