On the morning of May 7, 2026, a fatal accident occurred on 1. Cadde in Zekeriyaköy, Sarıyer, Istanbul. Okan Demir, 34, was driving a camper (license plate 34 FC 4324) when he lost control on a curve. The vehicle crashed into road barriers, overturned and shattered into pieces.
The driver was trapped between the camper and the barrier. Rescue teams extracted him, but medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Traffic on the road was temporarily closed for the recovery of the camper and cleanup. Police have launched an investigation.
