A motorhome collided with a small car that was stopped on the hard shoulder of the A3 motorway in Hesse, likely due to a breakdown. One woman died at the scene, another was seriously injured and airlifted to hospital. The motorhome driver, from North Rhine-Westphalia, suddenly moved from the middle lane to the hard shoulder, hit the guardrail twice, and then struck the car. The motorway was closed for over five hours, causing a traffic jam of more than ten kilometres.
