On 2 October 2026, a motorhome caught fire in Saussemesnil, in the Manche department. The flames spread to a house garage with an area of about 30 sq m. Firefighters from Valognes, Cherbourg and Tourlaville extinguished the fire using two hose lines. No casualties were reported.
