A man lost his home after two caravans were destroyed in a suspected arson attack on Cinque Ports Way, behind Bexhill Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, on June 21 at 5:45 am. The fire spread to nearby beach huts and a parked car, causing damage. No injuries were reported. Sussex Police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life; he has been released on bail. The owner of one caravan lost all belongings, including items belonging to his young daughter. A fundraiser was launched by his ex-partner to raise £1,000 for essentials and temporary accommodation.
