James Michael McArdell, 37, faces charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and felony domestic assault in Clay County, Minnesota. Authorities say he assaulted a woman inside a camper at Buffalo River State Park on June 16, then fled on a bicycle before being tracked down by a K9 unit. McArdell has two prior domestic violence convictions from 2023 in North Dakota, elevating the current charge to a felony.
