By 2 p.m. Thursday, floodwaters at Perk Beach RV Park and Campgrounds in Perkinston, Mississippi, were chest-deep due to Tropical Storm Arthur. The park manager and others rescued a kitten from the water. After the rescue, WDAM journalist Delaney Dukes dried the cat with a towel and handed it off for care. Preliminary reports show rivers across the region hit historic crests and damaged at least one dam.
