One person killed in RV fire in Bunnell, Florida

The RV Industry Association held a Campground Coalition meeting focused on Grounding Monitor Interrupters (GMI) during RVs Move America Week in Washington, D.C. GMI devices are expected to be required on all 2028 model year RVs. The coalition plans to create an informational document for campgrounds and consumers.

The Benton County Planning Board voted 5-0 to approve the site plan for Ozark Trails RV Park on about two acres at 16653 School House Road. Construction is expected to begin within months. The park will enforce quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and use a septic system and private well approved by the Arkansas Department of Health.

According to the U.S. Census American Community Survey, 2,685 Wisconsinites lived in an RV in 2024, a 137% increase from 1,131 in 2019, compared to a 54% national rise. No statewide ban exists, but Milwaukee and Madison restrict full-time RV living: Milwaukee allows stays only in mobile home parks for up to 4 months per year, and vehicles over 22 feet are banned from residential districts. Average annual RV site rental in Wisconsin is $2,275, while median apartment rent is $1,086 per month, making RV living not necessarily cheaper.

US manufacturer Encore RV from Elkhart, Indiana, presented the 2026 ROG 12RK-FB caravan at Overland Expo West in Arizona. The 12-foot model features a pop-up bathroom mounted on the drawbar, including a shower and Thetford cassette toilet, preserving interior living space. Construction includes an aluminum chassis, composite panels, and a one-piece fiberglass roof.

The selection of serious films about motorhomes on Disney+ includes the drama Nomadland directed by Chloé Zhao. The 2021 Oscar winner follows a woman living in her car and traveling through the western US, working at various locations and meeting people in similar circumstances. A new campground at the John and Nancy Owen Fishing Access Site on the Bitterroot River will open Friday, June 5. It features four basic campsites, picnic tables, fire pits, and a restroom. All sites are first-come, first-served. The expansion was made possible by a 6.25-acre land donation from the neighboring Fort Owen Ranch in 2021.
