Fatal Fires
On the night of April 18, 2026, in an RV park near Salida, Colorado, firefighters arrived at 1:45 a.m. to find an RV fully engulfed in flames. Two people died, and one person managed to escape.
Later that evening, around 9:20 p.m., in Henderson, Nevada, on Ballerina Drive near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road, another RV caught fire. Firefighters found it fully engulfed; one person died, and no other injuries were reported.
Arson in Arkansas
On April 16, 2026, in Benton County, Arkansas, at the Scotty's RV consignment lot at the intersection of Beaver Shores Road and Arkansas 12, several RVs were set on fire. Damage is estimated at $50,000–$70,000. Benton County Sheriff's detectives are investigating and seeking information from the public.
Safety Warning
Earlier, in January 2026, a fatal RV fire occurred in Reserve, Louisiana. A lithium battery ignition is suspected, and the smoke alarm was found to be non-functional. It was the seventh fire death in the state that week.
