Motorhome theft under investigation in Puerto Rico

A Belgian family with four children has been stranded in Argentina for weeks during their South American trip. The motorhome's engine is in a limited emergency mode due to a fault code that local mechanics cannot read or reset because of locked European manufacturer software. The manufacturer states the code can only be cleared at a specific Volkswagen factory located 867 kilometers away.

A 79-year-old woman died in a caravan fire on Tuesday morning in Terbegec, Nagykürtös district. The caravan, parked on a residential property, was fully engulfed, and her body was found after the blaze was extinguished. A criminal investigation for manslaughter has been initiated, and the exact cause of the fire is under investigation.

Vehicle strandings at Traeth y Graig Ddu beach in Gwynedd increased significantly in 2025, with an estimated 30 cars and motorhomes recovered. A local farmer using a tractor performed most rescues as drivers, often from cities, misjudged the rapid tides and parked too low on the sand. Approximately one-third of the vehicles were submerged by seawater, leading to likely insurance write-offs.
