Two road accidents involving caravans were recorded in France on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Accident on RN157 (Ille-et-Vilaine)
A collision between a caravan and another vehicle occurred on the RN157 near Noyal-sur-Vilaine. Ten minutes after the crash, Bison Futé reported a 5.5 km traffic jam from Servon to Noyal-sur-Vilaine. Traffic was reduced to one lane until emergency and road services finished their work. Normal traffic resumed around 15:30.
Accident on A9 (Pyrénées-Orientales)
During the night of July 18, a driver traveling the wrong way on the A9 near Pollestres caused a four-vehicle pileup involving two caravans. One person died at the scene, six were hospitalized, one in critical condition. About 30 firefighters were deployed. The motorway was completely closed until 06:30.
