Hit-and-run driver ditches camper at church, leads troopers on 110 mph chase on I-95

NAI Outdoor Hospitality Brokers has completed three transactions: the sale of Hidden Valley RV & MH Development in San Antonio, Texas, a glamping resort development in Georgia, and RiverWalk RV Park in North Carolina. The deals highlight continued investor demand for RV parks and glamping sites in high-growth Sunbelt markets and experiential travel destinations.

A new RV park in Northport, Alabama, is expected to open this summer, located on 30th Ave., minutes from the University of Alabama and Bryant-Denny Stadium. Owner Lynwood Springer said the park aims to attract Alabama football fans and families attending tournaments at the nearby River Run Park complex. Amenities will include an on-site laundromat, a lighted pavilion with picnic tables, grills, and fencing.

Annie Wonderlich, 43, from Washington, bought a 1980s caravan in February 2026 and has spent about $2,000 on renovations. She aims to eliminate its van-like appearance in favor of a traditional English cottage look, and plans to add a 19-square-meter annex for a walk-in closet. The project is a mortgage-free alternative that also accommodates her pets.

Chris and Sara Aho sold their belongings, bought a van, and have been living and working in a motorhome for 7.5 years, traveling across the US, Canada, and Central America. They have no plans for traditional retirement, preferring to combine work and travel. According to them, many retirees advise them not to postpone life.

A motorhome was destroyed by fire Sunday at Starved Rock Family Campground in rural La Salle County, Illinois. Fire crews arrived within 20 minutes but found the vehicle fully engulfed. The owner rescued one dog; a second perished. No injuries were reported, though three nearby campers sustained heat damage. The Red Cross is assisting the owner.

In Pooler, Georgia, Make-A-Wish and Camping World of Savannah surprised 5-year-old George Handley and his family with a camper. George was diagnosed with leukemia in December 2022, also battled pneumonia and COVID-19, and spent three weeks in a medically induced coma. He has been cancer-free since May 2025. The camper was chosen because George enjoys traveling with his family, which includes five siblings.
