A group of travelers, previously stopped in Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny, moved to the Genevois region since Monday, May 4. About a hundred caravans entered the Salève rest area on the A40 motorway, adjacent to the Salève cable car parking, that evening. Police secured the convoy to prevent accidents and incidents on the A40. By Tuesday morning, May 5, part of the group had left, with caravans redistributed to communes including Archamps and Collonges; the remaining caravans did not affect cable car operations.
