Fire crews extinguished a blaze involving a disused caravan in Winsford, Cheshire, on Slaters Way in Hebden Green. The fire was reported at 17:46 on 9 June. Two crews attended, including one from Winsford fire station and one mobile water carrier. The caravan, located on an official licensed traveller site (operating since 2016), was well alight. Firefighters used a hand-held hose reel to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
In a separate incident, on the evening of 28 May, fire crews tackled a caravan fire in Chatham, Kent. The cause is believed to be deliberate, with no injuries reported and police investigating.
