On 31 May, over 150 caravans occupied the Fayence-Tourrettes airfield, as the town lacks a designated transit area. Mayor Olivier Baïlé stated that negotiations with group representatives failed. The French flying championship, scheduled for 16–20 June, may be disrupted if the site is not cleared. Authorities plan to build a transit area within 24 months.
