Caravan burned down in Lindesnes

Norwegian dealer Sør Caravan has announced it is now a dealer for French motorhome brand Rapido. The first vehicles have already been produced and are on their way to the dealership; new Rapido models will be on display in the showroom within days. The company is also taking orders for 2027 models, and its service department has already started working with Rapido, allowing customers to access sales, service and support in one place. Rapido's model range spans from compact motorhomes to large, fully integrated models.

For the first time, the Caravan Xpo show at Hellerudsletta offers items in all price ranges. On opening day, contracts were signed for a Morelo motorhome at 6 million kroner and a Concorde at 5 million kroner. On Saturday, a Hymer ML-T 580 4×4 motorhome sold for just under 4 million kroner. The show runs until Sunday at 4 p.m.

Jan-Gunnar Kalvik (40) from Hoelsand changed his lifestyle after a conversation with a colleague. He rented out his flat and bought a motorhome. His routes are now determined by the weather forecast: he travels to where the sun shines.

At the Caravan Xpo show camp in Hellerudsletta, 200 motorhomes checked in on the first day, with the influx continuing on the second day. The camp has a capacity of about 450 units and costs 300 kroner per night. According to unofficial figures, over 300 motorhomes had checked in by the afternoon of the second day, while caravans were in a clear minority. Spaces remain available for those without a booking.

At the Caravan Expo in Hellerudsletta, Norway, Wivestad Gruppen presented Hymer motorhomes customized by Palmo Exclusive. The vehicles, based on Mercedes-Benz chassis, offer bespoke features such as a gold toilet. Base price for a Hymer starts at around 2.6 million Norwegian kroner, and after customization exceeds 4 million. The company aims to sell 10–15 units in the first year.

Polish manufacturer Vannado is presenting its motorhomes in Norway for the first time at the Caravan Xpo show. The company builds around 50 motorhomes per year on MAN TGE and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, specialising in individually customised vehicles with natural materials and solutions for year-round use. The exhibited Karakorum Short 4×4 is 599 cm long, has a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg (kerb weight from 2,800 kg, the displayed unit at 3,200 kg; upgradable to 3,880 kg). Norwegian dealer Torstein Raum Eide from Trondheim, originally Vannado's first Norwegian customer, represents the brand.
