An early morning campervan fire broke out on West Bay Road in Bridport, Dorset, on Monday. Fire crews arrived at 02:26 BST; by the time they arrived, the campervan was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets and thermal imaging cameras. Gas cylinders were removed and cooled. The fire damaged windows, soffits and guttering of two neighbouring homes, as well as overhead power lines.
National Grid initially estimated a power cut affecting 44 properties, but later confirmed that two homes were affected; power has been restored. The network operator is repairing cables. No injuries were reported.
