On August 16, a truck-converted camper overturned and caught fire on the A46 near Cailloux-sur-Fontaines/Miribel. The fire spread to roadside vegetation, destroying about three hectares and threatening industrial and residential buildings.
Two people suffered minor injuries. Traffic on the A46 and A432 was closed, and rail service between Bourg-en-Bresse and Lyon-Saint-Clair was suspended. 47 firefighters and 21 vehicles were deployed; the operation ended by evening.
