Third Yangzhou RV Festival: one in ten Chinese RVs made locally

The 29th Beijing International Motorhome Show is being held at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park from September 5 to 14. The exhibition area exceeds 50,000 square meters, with more than 300 vehicles and over 100 motorhome brands. Admission is free, and on-site parking is available.

A comparison of three 7-day motorhome camping routes for the summer has been published, covering Hulunbuir, Ili and the Qinghai-Gansu loop. The Hulunbuir route, about 1,200 km, is recommended for families with children; Class B motorhome rental costs 800–1,200 yuan per day, with a budget from 4,000 yuan per person. The Ili route, about 1,500 km, is suggested for couples, with a budget of about 5,000 yuan per person. The Qinghai-Gansu route, 1,500–1,800 km, targets culture and nature enthusiasts, with a budget of about 4,000 yuan per person. Popular campsites, including Sayram Lake and Dachaidan, require booking at least 7 days in advance.

The Western China International Expo City (Xibocheng) in Chengdu's Tianfu New Area is hosting a motorhome and camper show. Exhibits include motorhomes with pop-up roofs, light-truck motorhomes, models on BYD chassis, and the compact vanla pro camper. In addition to vehicles, the event features solar camping conversion solutions, an AI electric motorcycle, a manned aircraft and a firefighting drone. Show discounts are available on some models.

Xiaomi has unveiled the SkyNomad N90 Max Studio Edition, a camper version of its extended-range SUV, featuring an electric pop-up roof that creates a second sleeping level. The model uses an extended-range system with electric motors and a petrol generator; claimed combined range exceeds 1,700 km. The five-seat cabin has folding rear seats that form a bed. The model is currently for the Chinese market, with no export plans announced.

The 2026 Shijiazhuang motorhome camping season has opened at the Hutuo River Art Eco-Island. A 64-year-old woman who travels across China in a motorhome with her husband and a Canadian man who praised the campsite took part in the event.

Xiaomi has introduced a Studio version of its SkyNomad N90 Max SUV, converting the vehicle into a camper. The main change is a factory-installed electric pop-up roof integrated into the body structure on the production line. When raised, interior height reaches 2294 mm, allowing a person up to 1.80 m tall to stand upright. The upper tier (2110 by 985 mm) serves as a 1946 mm-long sleeping area. An aluminum honeycomb-reinforced frame supports up to 200 kg. The rear seats convert into a bed (1.87 by 1.24 m) in 30 seconds via electric drives. Equipment includes a 9-liter compressor refrigerator, 220 V and 15 V outlets, and an aluminum wood-effect floor with heating up to 38 degrees. The powertrain is EREV: a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine acts as a generator, while two electric motors produce a combined 310 kW (421 hp). A 76 kWh battery provides 460 km of pure electric range (CLTC), with total range reaching 1705 km. Fuel consumption with a depleted battery is 6.26 l/100 km.
