On the evening of July 16, more than 24 hours before the start of the 14th stage (Mulhouse to Markstein), hundreds of campervans had already taken the ridge road between the Col du Tourmalet and Markstein. Almost all spots along the stage route were occupied, and spectators will have to wait for the riders to pass until the afternoon of July 18.
Ahead of the 13th stage (Dole to Belfort), fans filled the area around the Ballon d'Alsace hotel with campervans and caravans. Some arrived as early as Monday. Among them were Henry from Saarland and Søren from Denmark.
