Athenree Hot Springs and Holiday Park, located near Katikati north of Tauranga, won the Holiday Park Supreme Industry Award at the Holiday Parks New Zealand Awards in Hamilton. Independent reviewer appointed for Mount Beachside Holiday Park landslide

An independent external review into the landslide at Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park on 22 January 2026 will be publicly released by 21 August 2026. Retired High Court Judge Hon Paul Davison KSO KC will examine the circumstances leading up to the landslide, including decision-making processes and systems in place. The review will consider lessons learned and improvements needed to strengthen future safety practices.
