Direct Cars builds first EV camper on Kia PV5 passenger base

A new roadside station 'Noda Paapuru' in Noda, Iwate Prefecture, features an RV campsite and is part of the Japan Camping Car Rally 2025.

Japanese company Vantec has introduced a new version of its Astrale Trias 480 motorhome, built on the Isuzu Travio chassis. The vehicle measures 4900 mm in length, 1960 mm in width, and 2700 mm in height. It is powered by a 1.9-liter diesel engine producing 120 hp, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and other driver-assistance systems. Pricing in Japan starts at 10,670,000 yen.

Nissan offers two camper versions of its Caravan van: Myroom and Multibed. Myroom focuses on comfort and interior ambiance, while Multibed prioritizes cargo capacity for outdoor gear. Prices start at 5,765,100 yen for Myroom and 3,939,100 yen for Multibed.

Katō Motor has unveiled the AIVIS FOR PET system, which enables remote climate control and pet monitoring in campers via smartphone. The system uses AI to determine whether the air conditioner can be activated based on battery data, preventing over-discharge. It will be showcased at the Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026 on July 11–12.

The RV CAMP CLUB in YOKOHAMA overnight parking event will be held on September 26–27, 2026 at Rinko Park alongside the Yokohama Camping Car Show 2026. Participation costs 33,000 yen per vehicle, with registration by July 31 and a lottery selection.

Toy Factory has unveiled the new generation of the ZARA camper based on the Toyota Hiace. The model debuts at the Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026 on July 11–12.
