Vintage caravan turned into mobile coffee shop

Kevin Tucker punched Alan Crosby, breaking his shoulder, then Barry Parkes intervened with a hammer, but Tucker doused him with petrol. The incident occurred in front of children. Tucker received a 10-month suspended sentence, Parkes 16 weeks suspended.

Ashfield Caravan Park near Hartlepool is on the market with a guide price of £2 million. The 11-acre site has planning permission for 105 touring pitches with electric hook-ups, 37 static holiday caravans (expandable to 47), and storage for up to 143 touring caravans. Facilities include a licensed social club, amenity block, and a four-bedroom house for the owner or manager.

Buccleuch Estates has proposed a tourism development on 17.7 hectares near Canonbie, Dumfriesshire, featuring 137 lodges and conversion of the historic Irvine House (built 1792). The application will be considered by Dumfries and Galloway Council's planning committee next week, with a planning officer recommending approval subject to conditions. The project is expected to create 37 jobs and requires all lodges to be used for holiday accommodation only, along with installation of EV charging points and planting of 1,600 trees.

The Norfolk Motorhome & Campervan Show, also known as the Out & About Live Summer Party, will take place at the Norfolk Showground from July 17 to 19. A new temporary motorhome insurance product has launched in the UK, offering flexible cover for drivers borrowing a motorhome or campervan for short periods. Insurance provider GoShorty has expanded its range of temporary vehicle insurance products with the introduction of motorhome cover available from one to 28 days. The policy is designed to allow borrowers to take out their own standalone insurance, with claims handled separately from the owner's policy to protect their No Claims Discount. The move comes as interest in staycations, road trips and peer-to-peer vehicle sharing continues to grow.

A journalist cycled 60 miles on an e-bike from Oxford to Walton-on-Thames, following the path of early campers of the Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC), which celebrates its 125th anniversary. Founded in 1901 as the Association of Cycle Campers, the club has grown from 150 to over 300,000 members. The route included an overnight stay at the family-run Bella Vista Camping in Radnage and a visit to the oldest CCC campsite in Walton, opened in 1913.
