A trend is growing in China of converting BYD T5 electric trucks into luxury campers. Blogger Ye Ba Ye Ba created a home on wheels based on the BYD T5 without modifying the vehicle's structure, installing a separate removable capsule with kitchen, bed, and storage spaces inside the cargo compartment.
The truck is equipped with an 18.4 kWh LFP battery and an internal combustion engine, allowing city driving on electric power and long-distance travel. The vehicle's payload capacity is up to 6500 kg.
Chengli specializes in such conversions, even creating three-story motorhomes based on the T5 with solar panels and a washing machine. BYD does not manufacture camping trailers, but the new trend in China has led to its trucks being transformed into campers.
