The Isle of Man infrastructure department has placed notices on motorhomes parked on Douglas promenade, warning of parking restrictions during the Manx Grand Prix. According to the notices, parking is allowed for only 16 hours in any 24-hour period, and dumping waste into storm drains is prohibited.
Social media criticism arose over the lack of waste disposal points, to which the department responded that fines have not yet been issued and the notices aim to encourage use of campsites. The letters state that there are paid parking areas where overnight stays are permitted, and the island has many campsites.
