Councillors clash over permanent motorhome overnight parking ban

Buccleuch Estates has proposed a tourism development on 17.7 hectares near Canonbie, Dumfriesshire, featuring 137 lodges and conversion of the historic Irvine House (built 1792). The application will be considered by Dumfries and Galloway Council's planning committee next week, with a planning officer recommending approval subject to conditions. The project is expected to create 37 jobs and requires all lodges to be used for holiday accommodation only, along with installation of EV charging points and planting of 1,600 trees.

The Norfolk Motorhome & Campervan Show, also known as the Out & About Live Summer Party, will take place at the Norfolk Showground from July 17 to 19. A journalist cycled 60 miles on an e-bike from Oxford to Walton-on-Thames, following the path of early campers of the Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC), which celebrates its 125th anniversary.
