Councillors are split over plans for a permanent overnight motorhome parking ban in Scarborough and Whitby. The trial ban, introduced along part of the North Yorkshire coast, reduced complaints in the original zones but shifted the problem to residential areas.
More than 3,000 responses were received during consultation; according to one source, most were objections from motorhome owners. The scheme, which expires in May, will see a final decision in April.
