On the morning of January 15, 2025, Larnaca authorities, with police assistance, began an operation to remove motorhomes and unauthorized structures from a beach near the Larnaca Nautical Club. By morning, four motorhomes had been confiscated, and large boulders were placed at the entrance to prevent large vehicles from re-entering. The operation followed an ultimatum from the Interior Minister and notices from the district administration. Similar action is expected on a neighboring beach where illegal wooden structures were erected.
