A permanent ban on overnight parking of campervans on the North Yorkshire coast has been confirmed, effective from 27 March 2026. The restriction applies from 23:00 to 7:00 in North Bay, Scarborough and on the A174 south of Sandsend. The decision follows a trial period introduced in 2024 after numerous complaints about anti-social behaviour and vehicles taking up multiple parking spaces. The council has stated it is also considering additional restrictions in residential areas of Scarborough.
