A plan to build a campsite with around 50 pitches in Bergern, Austria, has been rejected by the local council. Seven council members voted against initiating the zoning procedure, with two abstentions. The project's initiator, innkeeper Alfons Baldinger, expressed disappointment, noting the campsite was intended as a project for his son. Earlier, residents had raised concerns about noise and increased traffic.
In a referendum, 53% of Winterthur residents voted against renovating the Schützenweiher campsite. The city council sees no legal path to allow permanent camping there. In response, the Alternative List (AL) party, together with campsite residents, launched an initiative demanding a new camping project with at least one-third of the area designated for alternative housing.

The operator of the Öko-Camp Stumergut in Eggerding died in autumn 2025. As no successor has been found yet, the natural swimming lakes and the campsite remain closed as of summer 2026. The future of the facility is uncertain.
Over 30 residents of the Five Ways Caravan Park in Melbourne's south-east must vacate by August 25 due to site redevelopment. Victoria's Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and Kingston City Council are providing support, including housing options and removalist funding. The owner has submitted a planning application for a residential village with 56 moveable dwellings and a two-storey communal building with 5 apartments.

Dinosaur Ridge Resorts LLC, which aimed to develop a 256-site RV park near Golden, Colorado, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 20. The company owes $6.5 million to lender Tebo Properties, plus nearly $200,000 in property taxes and $175,000 to a consultant. The project never broke ground despite rezoning approval in 2024.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and border closures, many motorhome travelers are unable to return home. In Portugal, ferries to the UK have been cancelled, campsites are closing, and authorities provide no guidance. Travelers, mostly elderly and at high risk, are left without options to leave the country or find parking.
