The Michigan DNR and Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency have designated 11 state parks where fireworks will be banned on Independence Day as a courtesy to veterans with PTSD, pet owners, and others sensitive to loud noises. Most projectile fireworks like bottle rockets and roman candles are already illegal in state parks, while sparklers and ground spinners remain allowed.

Police arrested Loyed Clayton Yost, owner of Clayton Construction, for allegedly stealing more than $112,000 from a 67-year-old RV park owner in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas. According to an affidavit, the victim paid Yost $124,550 in February-March 2022 to add 30 RV spaces, roads, and utilities, but the work was never completed. Yost has prior theft charges related to construction work in McLennan and Burnet counties.

An Oregon man faces hate crime charges after a confrontation at Sunny Ridge RV Park in Jordan Valley. On June 20, police responded to a report of a man yelling racial slurs and threats at a woman. The suspect, Moses Esparza, 42, was charged with first-degree bias crime (a felony), second-degree bias crime, and menacing.
