Overnight stays for self-contained recreational vehicles are set to return to a Sunshine Coast sportsground under a six-month trial. Beerwah Sportsground’s short-term camping facility permanently closed in May 2023 after the volunteer-run management committee dissolved. The trial will allow up to 12 sites for motorhomes and caravans equipped with their own toilets, showers and power. A council spokesperson said the trial followed strong support from the local business community, with fees intended to be competitive with similar facilities.
