A McLennan County judge ruled in favor of the Woodway Board of Adjustment and resident Keven Vranich in a dispute with the Woodway City Council over the legality of an oversized RV carport on Sante Fe Drive. The court found that the board did not abuse its discretion in determining the structure complies with city requirements. The city had ordered Vranich to bring the property into compliance, but the board voted 5-0 that the carport is not an accessory building. The city has not decided whether to appeal.

One person died and eight others were injured after a motorhome crashed on Interstate 40 in Carroll County, Tennessee, on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Andrienne Langley, 37, of Texas, who was found trapped beneath the vehicle. Fire crews from multiple agencies battled a multi-vehicle fire on Highway 89 near Pilgrim Creek Road after an RV towing a vehicle caught fire, according to the Cal Fire Siskiyou Unit. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Aug. 6. The RV and the towed vehicle were fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. Highway 89 at Bigalow was closed to through traffic while crews extinguished the fire and investigated its cause.
