Authorities in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, have completed a public parking lot designed for temporary storage of campers and caravans, as well as long-abandoned vehicles. The 4,346.4 m² facility with 130 spaces, including 44 for towed vehicles, opened on March 17, 2026, in the Jinju-Ppuri Industrial Complex.
The parking lot was created in response to amendments to the Parking Lot Act, effective July 2024, which allow the removal of vehicles parked for more than one month on free public lots. It features enlarged spaces measuring 2.6×5.5 m for campers and caravans, as well as spaces for regular cars, disabled vehicles, and electric cars. The project cost was 2.19 billion won (according to most sources; one source states 21.9 billion won).
