A gift for the homeless
Five women raised funds and purchased a used RV for a homeless man and his dog in Jefferson County, Missouri, according to multiple sources.
The man, identified as Dan Catern, had been living in a tent under an overpass since 2013. The fundraising campaign first allowed him to move into a hotel room in February, and then to buy the vehicle. He was also offered a job at a dog daycare.
Some sources say the initiative came from five women, while others describe it as a group of strangers.
