In 2025, overnight stays in campsites, motorhome parks and motorhome parking areas in the European Union reached a record 413 million, accounting for 13.4% of all tourist nights in the region. Compared to 2015, the figure rose by 28.5%, with 67% of stays occurring in the summer months.
According to Eurostat data, France ranks first with 154 million overnight stays — 37.2% of the European total. It is followed by Spain, Italy and Germany.
