Diyanah Afendy, 31, and her partner Scott Tillman, 32, are on a 10-month road trip around Australia in a self-converted Hyundai Staria. They are following the Big Lap, a 14,500 km route along Highway 1. The DIY conversion cost A$18,000, about half the quoted professional price. Monthly expenses average A$3,500, and living on the road is about 30% cheaper than in Wollongong.
