According to 2025 data, the Baltic Sea remains Germany's most popular camping region for domestic tourists, with 3.5 million overnight stays in Schleswig-Holstein, 1.6 million in Mecklenburg, and 1.5 million in Western Pomerania. However, among international visitors, the Black Forest leads with 735,000 overnight stays, accounting for over a quarter of its total camping guests. In comparison, the Baltic Sea in Schleswig-Holstein recorded only 100,000 foreign overnight stays.
