During China's National Day holiday from October 1 to 7, over 90 percent of tourists made cross-regional trips via highways. More travelers are choosing self-driving, with motorhomes gaining popularity due to policy support and improved facilities. While most motorhome renters were previously elderly, the mode of travel is now increasingly popular among young people. Average rental periods are around seven days or more, and motorhome use is expanding to long-distance travel. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, motorhome sales exceeded 20,000 units for the first time in 2025.
