In the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles, Marr Street is again occupied by RVs and tent encampments. Police reported a 39% year-over-year increase in aggravated assaults linked to homeless activity. A proposed California Assembly Bill 647, which would authorize removal of broken-down RVs valued under $4,000, failed a local neighborhood council vote 7-6-2. A town hall meeting is tentatively scheduled for June 9th to address the issue.
