Since the start of 2025, the Swiss canton of Geneva has been calculating vehicle tax for camper vans and motorhomes based on weight. Owners of a two-tonne camper van pay about €150 per year, while four-tonne integral motorhomes can incur up to €700. The measure does not apply to vehicles registered in France. A petition proposing a €1,000 annual tax on motorhomes in France has gathered only 25 signatures.
