As of 26 June 2026, amendments to Spain's General Traffic Regulations have ended over 15 years of unequal treatment for campers. Campers are now treated as standard motor vehicles for parking, provided they do not extend beyond the vehicle perimeter, rest only on their wheels, and do not discharge habitation liquids. Municipalities may still impose general parking limits but cannot ban campers specifically without objective justification.
