Yamazen launches carbon monoxide alarm for tents and car camping

On July 11–12, 2026, the Tokyo Camper Show 2026 was held at Tokyo Big Sight, organized by JRVA. 74 companies displayed 238 motorhomes and travel trailers. Highlights included HiAce-based camper vans (despite ongoing supply shortages), Fiat Ducato-based models, and the first Japanese debut of an EV camper van based on the Kia PV5. Light camper vans based on Suzuki Every and Daihatsu Hijet also drew strong interest.

Honda Access unveiled a Stepwgn minivan version for overnight stays and remote work. It features a sleeping area over 2 m long, a fold-out laptop table, and a 15.6-inch monitor.

At the Tokyo Outdoor Show 2026, held from June 28 to 30, 2026, at Makuhari Messe, Elecom showcased its NESTOUT portable battery series and related gear. The lineup includes batteries with capacities from 5,000 to 20,000 mAh, a USB-powered circulator, LED lantern, multi-cooker, and a carbon monoxide alarm with temperature and humidity sensors. Prices range from 4,681 to 11,980 yen.

A 60-something couple traveling Japan in a camper van posted a video of their in-vehicle dinner in Gifu Prefecture. The clip received 645 likes on Instagram. They bought local specialties at a supermarket: "komodofu" (tofu wrapped in straw) and pickled turnip. The couple is touring the country after retirement.

The Shin Kurumi Land auto campground in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, is located along the Akigawa River. It provides tent sites and was empty on a weekday, offering a private experience.

JIBUN HAUS. and Areano have jointly launched a new full-order, skeleton-type trailer house called "FULL ORDER," which uses a CFS (cold-formed steel) structure for local finishing by regional builders. The trailers come in three sizes: 2.5m x 3.6m (from ¥3.63 million), 2.5m x 7.2m (from ¥4.51 million), and 2.5m x 10.8m (from ¥5.36 million), excluding transport, installation, and legal fees. Sales begin July 17, 2026.
