Chinese brand VALA, which makes electric campers, reported record sales: in the first quarter of 2026 it sold 564 vehicles, exceeding its total for all of 2025 (432 units). The main model, the VALA Home based on the Ruichi electric vehicle, costs 169,900 yuan and has a range of 350 km. The vehicle has no toilet, which the company says avoids waste disposal issues.
The company uses an unconventional dealer model: showrooms are located in underground parking garages, and sales are conducted through a community of owners (“co-creators”). According to CEO Sun Haitao, selling about 1,000 vehicles would be enough to reach the break-even point.
