A 1962 Shasta Astrodome travel trailer is for sale in Opelika, Alabama, for $7,500. The trailer underwent an extensive restoration after being purchased in 2022, including frame re-welding, a modern electrical system, LED lights, extra insulation, new windows, and a redone plumbing system. The interior was refinished in a turquoise and white color scheme with vintage-inspired patterns. The Astrodome is a 16-foot trailer with rear wings and a front cab-over bunk, featuring a built-in toilet and a 30-gallon (114-liter) water tank. The seller notes that a fresh-water tank still needs to be installed; a two-gallon container is currently used. The camper has been road-tested on trips from Virginia to Texas and Alabama, with a sweet spot of 60-65 mph (97-105 kph).
