Former IT entrepreneur Chris Bryant from Taree accidentally built the largest caravan rental fleet in New South Wales. His business Dirt Gear Caravan Hire started in 2022 with one idle caravan. The company now operates a fleet of 25 trailers and has completed over 500 delivery orders.
Dirt Gear Caravan Hire placed second in the national Camplify competition, serving customers from Newcastle to Coffs Harbour. The owner notes that renting is often more cost-effective than buying if using the equipment less than 6–8 weeks per year.
