The Deschutes County Commission adopted the 2027 fiscal year fee schedule, introducing new charges for long-term RV parking at the Deschutes Expo Center RV Park: $1,500 per month (up to three months) and $295 per week. System development charges for new homes and visitor accommodations increased by $150 to $200, depending on building size.

Gastón Ortega, born in Ingeniero Jacobacci, Argentina, built a motorhome in Neuquén and set off on a journey across the Americas. Over two years, he visited several countries, including Chile and Venezuela. In the US, he plans to unfurl a giant Argentine flag at Copa América matches. After the tournament, he intends to continue through Central America and return to Patagonia.

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Bruce Westerman and Ranking Member Jared Huffman introduced the GAOA 250 bill. It would provide $1.9 billion annually for five years to national parks and public lands. Funding would come from private donations, onshore energy revenue, and new foreign visitor fees.
